Before joining St. Thomas Church in 2019, Pastor Jim served as Senior Pastor of Bellevue’s St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church for 36 years. Jim also taught World Religions at Seattle Pacific University for 15 years. He continues to work to support affordable housing, human services, and the arts throughout the Eastside, most recently with the Development Committees of KidVantage, The Sophia Way; and Bel-Red Arts District and Performing Arts Center Eastside. He is energized by teaching and believes in bold collaboration with other faith communities, municipalities, and those who strive for justice, peace, and healthy communities for all.

Jim and his wife Nancy (who currently serves on our vestry) are blessed with close family: a daughter and a son-in-law (to be) in Enumclaw, a daughter and a son-in-law and two grandsons with whom they live in North Bend.
