Childcare Attendant
St. Thomas’ child care room is available for children during church on Sunday mornings. We are currently seeking a part-time childcare attendant to assist in providing a safe and welcoming space for children and families.
Hours & Compensation

Sundays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; others dates as necessary on a negotiated basis

The pay range for this part time position is $17-$25 per hour. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including education or training, relevant work history and job-related skills.

Reports to the Associate Rector for Family Ministries & Evangelism
Duties:

Welcome parents and children. If they are new, orient them to the child care room

Offer and provide for the emotional, physical and social needs of young children during the time they are in the child care room

Prepare and maintain a warm, safe environment that is orderly, clean and appealing.

Establish and maintain good communication and be sensitive and responsive to parents

Read, understand and follow childcare room policies

Be on site in the child care room for the entire scheduled time

With the Associate Rector, arrange for a substitute in the event of absence from scheduled time. Notify the Associate Rector by at least two weeks before a Sunday absence
Qualifications:

Candidates must be at least 16 years old
-
Background experience in child care or early childhood development
-
Must be a nurturing, caring, patient caregiver who enjoys working with young children

Organizational skills helpful

CPR and First Aid certification required, either before or after hiring

All St. Thomas employees must undergo background check and fulfill Diocese of Olympia Safeguarding training requirements
