Juneteenth Prayer Pilgrimage: June 19th, 1-6pm, St David Emmanuel Shoreline

Join St David Emmanuel Shoreline and St Augustine In-the-Woods Whidbey for a Juneteenth Prayer Pilgrimage honoring the life and legacy of civil rights leader, Edwin T. Pratt.

Arriving at St David Emmanuel Shoreline (18842 Meridian Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133) on June 19th at 1pm, we will proceed on a self-paced, driving prayer pilgrimage visiting sites in Shoreline and Seattle associated with Ed Pratt: former civil rights leader, head of the Seattle Urban League, and member of St David Emmanuel Shoreline who was murdered in 1969. A document with site information, historical notes, theological reflections, and prayers will guide you from site to site. Meeting back at St David Emmanuel at 4pm for closing group reflections and prayer, pilgrims will then have the option of attending the City of Shoreline’s inaugural Juneteenth celebration, 4-8pm at Shoreline City Hall (17500 Midvale Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133).

Can’t make it on Juneteenth? Register anyway and you can do the pilgrimage on your own time (just note “booklet only” on the registration).
