Dr. Paul Meier

Director of Music

Paul Meier is the recently appointed Interim Director of Music and Organist at St. Thomas. As a church musician, he aspires to use music to bring people closer to God and to help others develop their musical offerings.

Paul comes to St. Thomas from Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (Kansas City, MO) where he was the Director of Music; prior to that, he was the Assistant Director of Music at Grace Cathedral (San Francisco, CA). He has also worked as a musician in Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Baptist churches, though he feels most at home in the Episcopal Church.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree, both with honors, from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music degree from Rice University. In his free time, he enjoys reading, following football (both college and NFL), following politics, and playing golf. He and Suzanne Anderson, his wife, share their lives with dog Millie and cat Claudia and are delighted to be part of the St. Thomas Church community.
