We are hiring a full-time Associate for Engagement

St. Thomas Episcopal Church is seeking an Associate for Engagement who will develop strategic systems for the cultivation, stewardship and support of parish volunteers, events and evangelism. In addition, this role will develop a utilization plan for the church’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program and provide ongoing expertise, support and training regarding this resource to staff, clergy, lay leaders, program volunteers and parishioners. The Associate for Engagement serves as the team leader for the administrative staff and works closely with the Rector and staff leadership to provide strategy and support in human resources, staff management, communications, and business administration/finance.

Job Responsibilities:

Engage with clergy, staff, lay leaders, volunteers and parishioners to improve parishioner and volunteer engagement across all St. Thomas’ ministries, programs and events. Develop and maintain a plan, schedule, and structure for annual community engagement events as well as volunteer engagement policies and processes that support sustainable and meaningful community involvement. 

Collaborate across all ministries and programs to ensure improved understanding and usage of the organization’s CRM program. Provide ongoing CRM program support and training.

Serve as the administration team leader by convening meetings, delegating tasks within the team when appropriate, tracking goals and expectations, managing team budgets and spending, and reporting on team performance. 

Develop, implement and review staff meeting schedules, team-building events and appreciation efforts. 

In partnership with the Rector and staff leadership, develop strategic plans and provide support in human resources, communications and finance. 

Actively participate in meetings, planning sessions, team-building activities, retreats, celebrations, special events and worship services at St. Thomas. 

Regularly engage in opportunities for personal, spiritual and professional development. 

Abide by all church policies including, but not limited to, confidentiality, personnel, finance, and use of computers and facilities. Follow Diocesan requirements and policies for the protection of children, parishioners, and other employees. 

Other duties as assigned. 


Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 4 years of professional experience in organizational administration with management experience and/or a master’s degree in business, non-profit administration or counseling, or a comparable combination of experience and education. 

Prior experience must include effective staff and/or volunteer development and management as well as a verifiable record of organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and the ability to proactively create strategic system improvements while meeting deadlines. Technology requirements include a strong working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media. 

Additional Essential Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a flexible and responsive team player and a supportive and collegial team leader; a skilled facilitator who fosters cooperation within a small staff and a diverse parish; be highly skilled in managing their own time; reliably deadline-oriented; a dependable self-starter; able to manage multiple projects and requests in a fast-paced non-profit environment. Strong interpersonal skills are required as are excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing authentic community both within the St. Thomas staff and the wider parish. Knowledge of the Christian faith as expressed in the Episcopal Church is beneficial but not required. 

Position is full-time, on-site and requires regular attendance at church services on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings and other frequent evening and weekend events. Salary range is $50,400 - $60,240/DOE. Pension and health insurance will be provided per Parish/Diocesan Policy.

We are seeking a part-time Childcare Provider

St. Thomas Episcopal Church is looking for a caring childcare provider to work in our nursery (babies - age 5) each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. Our childcare program is focused on creativity and play, so applicants should be enthusiastic and truly love spending time with young children.

Sunday shift: 9 am to 12 pm(/1 pm on occasion)
Wednesday shift: 5 pm to 9 pm with 30 minute dinner break
