Youth at St. Thomas

The youth ministry of St. Thomas connects our youth to God, each other, and themselves. We provide opportunities for youth to gather in Christian community to ask questions, share their search for God, experience Jesus in transforming ways, and find meaning in their lives. Relationships are the backbone of all we do as we grow together as lifelong followers of Christ.

We do fun seriously, we do community and relationship seriously, and we do faith seriously. Here are some ways to get involved:

Middle School & High School Youth Group

Middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) youth meet separately once a month during the school year for a meal, games, and conversation about life and faith.  High school youth group meets from 6-8pm on the third Sunday of each month.  Middle school youth group meets from 5-7pm on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Sunday Morning Faith Formation

Each Sunday morning from September through June, our youth gather from 9:15-10:10am to talk about life and faith together with some committed adult volunteers.  Groups are divided by grade level – grades 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12.  We serve breakfast in the youth center starting at 8:50 each Sunday before faith formation.

Confirmation is offered for high school students (grades 9-12) each year in conjunction with our Sunday Morning Faith Formation program.

Monthly Special Events

We gather for a special event each month – either a service opportunity or a recreational event to laugh and play together as we build community.  Details for upcoming events can be found on our youth calendar.

Summer Mission Trip

Each summer, youth from St. Thomas go out into the world to serve others, experience different people and cultures, and witness how God is at work in the world. Dates and locations change each summer – information about the year’s trip is published in the winter. Past trips have included El Salvador; Mt. Vernon, WA; Jackson, MS; and Guatemala.

Our 2017 mission trip is a high school trip to Guatemala.
