Dent Davidson
Associate for Liturgical Arts
Play and prayer are two essential elements in Dent’s approach
to planning liturgy and leading congregational song. He
discovered his vocation in church music early on, having served
St. Thomas since the age of 16, and in the intervening years at
Trinity Parish and St. Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle. He rejoined
the St. Thomas leadership team in 2003, hoping to blend elements
of tradition and innovation in shaping our worship. He holds a
degree in Composition and Vocal Jazz from Cornish College of the
Arts in Seattle. In addition to parish duties, he continues to
serve the diocese and the national church as a
clinician/composer/conductor for conferences and workshops, and
as the music leader for the House of Bishops.
Dent and his partner Jim make their home in Sahalee, where they
enjoy cooking, entertaining, and all the comedy that comes with
raising their two golden retrievers.

His vocation as a church musician began at an early age,
garnering his first position as a parish organist during his

rich musical tradition, strong sense of community, and the
enthusiastic hymn singing he experienced while substituting at
St. Thomas on several occasions.
Jeremy and his partner Laddie currently live in the Rainier
Beach neighborhood, where they stay more than a little busy with
an array of God’s creatures, most significantly their dogs and
their “big kid” Samson (Sammy), a Shire horse. When he’s not on
the organ bench on any given weekend, Jeremy and Sammy can
likely be found riding at Bridle Trails. Jeremy can be reached via email at
johannbach@gmail.com. |
